CHAT: Finally facing my Waterloo

If you're looking for that extra special item to highlight your stamp engravers collection or display, you could do worse than opting for the Belgian issue of 2015, marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.

It is extra special because the five stamps are engraved by five different engravers from all over the world. This was done on purpose. The Belgian Post has those engravers collaborating on issues quite regularly, but on this sheet, the idea was explicitly to show the general collector the different styles engravers have.

And yes, when comparing the five stamps, you do see differences in style, in what sort of techniques each engraver has used to build up the portrait. How the lines run, what sort of lines and dots are used, how deep the engravings are. It's quite fascinating to see, and even though I wouldn't be able to explain what it is exactly, I do appreciate the different feel of the five stamps.

So, in order for you to feel it as well, here are the five stamps in all their glory.
